Pieridae Energy increases Nova Scotia presence

HALIFAX, NS Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 – Pieridae Energy Canada Ltd. (Pieridae) is pleased to announce the opening of an office in Halifax and the addition of two new team members focused on the development of the company’s proposed Goldboro LNG project.

Goldboro LNG will include a natural gas liquefaction plant and facilities for the storage and export of liquefied natural gas (LNG), including a marine jetty for loading. The project will create significant direct and indirect economic benefits for the local community, province and region.

The additions to the Pieridae team include Mark Brown, Director of Project Development and Bonnie Sheppard, Office Manager/Executive Assistant. Pieridae’s new office is located at 1718 Argyle Street, Halifax, NS.

Mark Brown will lead the development of Goldboro LNG. He has over 30 years of experience in the North American and international energy industry, and was involved in the development of the Canaport LNG facility in New Brunswick and the proposed development of the Maple LNG facility in Goldboro, Nova Scotia. Mark has been involved in several other natural gas developments in Atlantic Canada over the last 13 years.

The proposed Goldboro LNG facility is anticipated to produce up to 10 million metric tons of LNG per year and have on-site storage capacity of 690,000 cubic metres of LNG. It is anticipated that at its peak Goldboro LNG will create up to 3,500 jobs during construction and 200 ongoing operation and maintenance positions.
